Aren't these delightful?

Currently I am still on my clothing fast.  It has not been easy but I'm still going strong--it's been rather cathartic.

It's a fascinating concept really--I get a lot more done when I'm not shopping online.

I did do a little peek today though.....

I've never been a huge jewelry wearer.  I just kind of forget about it.  The only thing I really have going for me in the jewelry department are few rad statement necklaces.

Well....I think they're rad.

I was going through my teeny tiny jewelry box the other day, and realized that I don't have a lot of bracelets.

I have two.

Now, two bracelets is fine, but if I had money tree in my backyard, I would buy mounds of bracelets right now.

Heres a few that I fell in love with online, but will have to wait til I marry Bill Gates son to get them.

Does he even have a son?

What jewelry are you loving these days?

Is Nerd the new Hot? Part 2...

Laurabphoto.blogspot.com

Fur Vest: Vintage via Decades (SLC), Jacket: Bags that Fit Boutique (American Fork, Utah), Blouse: Anthropologie, Jeans: J.Crew, Shoes: Kenneth Cole via Dillards

I know today is supposed to be Oh my crud...that was rad day BUT....

Going on from yesterday, I've been wanting to talk about this for a while.

I'm finding more and more....and more, that I should stick with the so-called "nerds."

Why?

Because the ones who are endowed with the magical powers of good looking'ness' from birth end up having.....bedazzled jeans, shlacked hair....and a SPARKLING PERSONALITY.
(see this post)

I'm not saying that I want a nerd now.  I'm saying I want the after effect of Steve Urkel or Patrick Dempsey

Case in point:

However big Urkels lips may be or fluffy Dempsey's hair is....I want it.

Would you agree with me when I say that the men who were kinda nerdy before and NOT SO NERDY later,
are the rarest, and yet, most valuable gems of all?

Am I wrong?  Am I right? If I'm wrong or right.....Tell me why.

Is Nerd the new Hot? Part 1....

I may look like I have to pee, but really, my skirt flew up....awkward.....

laurabphoto.blogspot.com

dress turned skirt: Cozy (local shop in Provo), Chambray shirt: J.Crew (this is like a staple in my closet), cardigan: Nordstrom, Necklace: Charming Charlies, Sockies: H&M, Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Nordstrom

Sooooo.....

A year ago I made fun of people who wore socks with their sandals slash open toed shoes.

Like I said yesterday, I'm a pawn of the chessboard of fashion.

I saw this done in a magazine one time, thought it was cuckoo, then saw it more, AND THEN decided to maybe rethink the idea.

Who decides what's in fashion again?

I think back to the movie, "The Devil Wears Prada."  Do you all know what part I'm talking about?

Anyway, I wore this outfit to church on Sunday and my friend Michael was like, "So is socks with your shoes in style now or something?"

uhhhhhhhh....I move to the beat of my own drum?......(under my breath, or I just follow the "big dogs" dang it.)

So what do you guys think?  I need you to be honest.  Do you think that wearing socks with sandals is just the most asinine thing you have ever seen/heard/smelled (uhhh....what)?

Let me know if the nerd has made a come back.

Part two to come tomorrow...

Campus Stylized--Sara in the Maxi

This is Sara.  Isn't she gawgeous?

I know that campus stylized is supposed to be on Thursdays but my photo-taking friend, Laura has been quite the student this week and is just reals busy....

So were switching days just for this week.

I looooove Sara's maxi skirt.  It's even more beautiful in person.  I'm like weirdly into the maxi skirt right now....prolly because the fashion industry told me to be.

I'm such a pawn on the chessboard of fashion.

aaaand just in case you were dying to know what I did on Halloween.....

I wore a navy juicy suit for my costume (YEP), witnessed all my sisters candy get STOLEN by children (never leave your candy on the front porch).  Imagine me yelling with my fists to tweens, "You better eat all that freaking candy" as they run out of utter fear.  And then we made these cute little pudding R.I.P. thingers.  Pretty clever eh?

Toolshed Tuesday--now that's just sad.

laurabphoto.blogspot.com

Blouse: Anthropologie, Jeans: J.Crew, Belt: J.Crew, Shoes: Forever Young Shoes, Necklace: Heirloom from the Grammy, Shades: Uhhhhh....I'm pretty sure they're my friend Danielles haha

Good News.  My photo-taking friend returned yesterday and we took pics.

I like her.

Toolshed time has approached once again.

I got this story from a reader via email and I just thought it was IRREPLACEABLE.

I hope she doesn't mind....but I pretty much cut and pasted parts of her email to this post.

Brace yourselves....

'He knows my roommate has a boyfriend, yet he has asked her out on 3 dates.  He follows each NO with "I guess you are closer to your boyfriend than I thought" and when she gives him attitude he follows with phrases like "You better be a good girl or I am going to spank you" or "cut the attitude or I will come pin you down and lick your face."  Oh yeah...and he "owns" his own security system company for which he is the only employee.'

I have a few thoughts.

1.  Security guys scare me.  I imagine a man with bedazzled jeans, a cross on his shirt, and SHLACKED hair.
I feel that bedazzled jeans are contrary to the laws of nature...particularly on men.

2.  In regard to the licking comment, I would have said, "Honey, unless your "lick" tastes like Toblerone Swiss Chocolate, go pin yourself.

3.  Truthfully, I feel that it's little boys like bedazzled spanky boy who leave my faith dwindling in Provo, UT.

What can we learn?

Swiss chocolate rocks, bedazzling should be confined to "Dancing with the Stars," and spanking is a phrase used when putting on nylons.  (if you're a girl, you'll understand what I meant by that.)

If you have a great story that you would like to be featured on this blog....email me!  It's great fun.
