The Happiest Place on Earth

Blouse: Anthropologie, Jacket: Wight House, Jeans: J.Crew, Heels: Elle via Kohls, Jewelry:  Belt turned bracelet from J.Crew and vintage bracelet.

If I were to ask you, "If you could be anywhere except here right at this very moment, where would you be?"  what would you say?

Seriously though...what would you say?

I automatically think of Disneyland.

Yep.  I secretly dream of donning the seashells, red wig, and fins to become a princess myself whenever I'm there.  You got thinga-ma-bobs?  I have twenty.....

So, I'm leaving for the magical area today, and thoroughly plan on enjoying myself by stuffing my face with cotton candy, and a large turkey leg (good food combo right?) whilst yelling "CHEEEESEBALL" for the camera on Tower of Terror.

Have fun here while I'm there lovlies!

Also,  enjoy General Conference this weekend!  Soak it all in mmmkay?

Toolshed Tuesday: Child "flirting"

LauraBPhoto.blogspot.com

Blouse: Gap, Lace Jacket: Bags that Fit Boutique, Sailor trousies: Modcloth, Shoes: THA-RIFTED!!!, Spectacles: Gap, Earrings:  Heirlooms from the Grammy

I'm walking on campus on my way to class one day.  Minding my own business and eavesdropping on another conversation.  Hey now-- sometimes I get bored with my own life, so I vicariously live through others.  If you don't want me to hear, then don't walk so close to me.  Just sayin.

But this conversation....

HA.

Two girls are walking in front of me when I hear one say, "So, I was talking to Brett last night and he was like, So what are your 'sex'pectations?"

Once I heard this, a bounteous amount of thoughts flooded through my head.
(girl = a millions thoughts a kilo second.)

1. I had to cough to cover up my laugh, which would have disturbed this girl RIGHT in front of me.

2.  Even from the BACK, this girl looked like a freaking child.  Since when does BYU let children run amuck on campus?  Am I bitter about being a senior?  nooooooooo.

3. WHAT THE WHAT is sexpectations?  I don't want to know.  Inappropriate.

4. Whatever freak-o said this statement to this girl....I want to see his criminal record.

5. I wonder what the girl said back to him....unfortunately, we parted ways before I could find out.  How funny if she was like, "Well, I need to go through puberty first."
I THOUGHT THAT.

Men.

Although my morning was made, try to come up with something a little better next time for your DTR's.

Much love.

Gāngà (thats Chinese for Awkward).

Laurabphoto.blogspot.com

Top: Anthropologie, Skirt (that's really a dress turned skirt): J.Crew, Belt: J.Crew, Shoes: Tha-rifted!!! (thanks Danielle for making me buy them cuz I luh them.), Necklace: Egypt (How cool is that?)

SOOOOOOOO......

These pictures are extra awkward today.  I mean, whenever I pose for Laura to take pics of me, I'm ALWAYS supa AWK.  BUT this day I especially was because I had a date that morning (as you can see in the above Pho-tos.)

He came and fetched me during my little photoshoot, and DARN HIM!  He watched me take my pictures and I felt FUNNY having him watch.  I mean come on...I'd be a freaking weirdy if I didn't feel awkward about it.

So how did I solve it?

I brought him in the pictures with me.  Solved.

and plus,

It's like he is more fashionable than me for Pete sake.....not that that is saying much (cough cough).  Mike has ALWAYS been a fashionist-O ever since I met him, count em' on your hand,  4 years ago.  ya...we could call this a CATCH UP DATE.

But seriously,

Mike was wearing linen pants you guys....every man---who desires to be a man---should own linen pants.

They're hot.

Let's all wear our linens tomorrow k?

Giveaway Winner

Oh my Crud...That was Rad day!

Is this an awkward pose or WHAT???

Yes, I did include a picture of my visiting teacher who just happened to walk past during my photoshoot.

Blouse: Yesstyle, Jacket: Anthropologie, Pink Jeans: Tha-rifted!!!, Shoes: Modcloth, Watch: Betsey Johnson.

Oh my heck.  I got a sweet date story submission.  It's so good it's like chick flick material.

here goes....

So there is this girl... her name is Miley.  She was rushing to turn in an application on time, and when she got to the front desk the boy told her it wasincomplete.  Miley freaked out.  The boy laughed and said he was just kidding, and because Miley thought the boy was cute, she laughed too---even though she really just kind of wanted to punch him in the face because she had worked so hard on her application.

So Miley leaves.

Twenty minutes later, Miley gets a phone call and its from the boy from the front desk where she turned her application in.  Where in the world did he get Miley's number?  I shall tell you....

He said, "I never do this.  EVER.  But I got your number off your application and wanted to know if you wanted to go out this weekend?"

Silence on Miley's end.

He said, "I mean seriously.   I don't want to be a creeper, but I thought you were really cute and it seemed like it would be fun to go out with you."

Miley finally responds and said, "You got my number off my application?  That's brilliant.  I'd love to go out."

They are going out tonight.

Honestly, I loved this story.  I didn't think it was creepy.  I thought it was bold and freaking rad.  I say WAY TO GO boy!  Way to take initiative!  Seriously.

NOTE ABOUT THE GIVEAWAY FROM YESTERDAY:

Christina had trouble seeing all the people who liked her page.  She saw some but not others for some reason.  So we are very sorry about the confusion, but in order to fairly pick a winner, please leave a comment that you entered (liked her etsy page) on this post, and we will announce the winner by midnight tonight!

Flowers n' Frills

I died when I saw this.

look at these mini mocassins!!!!

Can you believe how adorable this scarf is?

First of all, let me just say that I took these pictures and NOT my photo-grapher, Laura.  I'm sure she would want me to say that because obviously these pics are NOT as good one the ones she takes.  Now that that's settled....

Introducing----

Flowers n' Frills!!!!

One of my Besties, Christina Pendleton is like basically perfect.  Ya she is.  She can do everything.  She has cray cray skills with the needle, and has an Etsy Shop where she sells all of her cutie crochet things.

This past Friday she had a ladies night where she showed off all her "wares," and gave dessert while doing it.

Because I am without child, I mostly spent my time over at the dessert table.  Right on.

BUT.

Unbeknownst to me, everything she makes can be made for us big peoples too.  So, at the end of the night I ordered an owl hat from her as well as a ruffle scarf for fall (see pictures above.)

So, do you love her stuff as much as I do?

I mean seriously, her stuff is cute in pics but even CUTER in real life.

So, today you have the chance to win an adorable crochet flower headband from her--either for your baby or yourself.  Right?  It's like we planned this.  Okay...so all you have to do it go to her Etsy page (which is linked to "Etsy Shop" above) and then scroll down til you get to a button on the left side that gives you the option to "like" her ETSY shop on facebook.  Click it.  As you like her shop on facebook, a textbox will appear.  In that textbox you need to write which item is your favorite item from her store.

Easy peezy lemon Squeezy.  And if you love her stuff so much (like that ruffle scarf I drool over), email her and order something. Like I said, she is crazy fast with that needle.

Winner will be announced in tomorrows post.

NOTE:  This giveaway is separate from the giveaway I am doing next week.

Stop!....it's giveaway time.

Ya....I'm a dancer.  Boom baby.

LauraBphoto.blogspot.com

Blouse: J.Crew, Skirt: Anthropologie, Belt: F21, Necklace: China, Shoes: Kohls

Funny Story.

I was talking to my friend Sam and I was like, "Sam.  I think I'm gonna do a giveaway on my blog soon.  What'ya think?"

Bless Sam for his response.

He said, "What like a date giveaway?"

Ha.

Then me and my sarcastic slash fun-loving self said, "Ya I'll just (We don't use that word here!) myself out.  No big deal."

Of course I was kidding....hellllllo.  I have standards.

But seriously though dears, I'm doing a giveaway next Wednesday of two lovely items....I mean, I think they're pretty great.  But it's a surprise!

So stay tuned and tell your friendy friends about it akay?

Peace out.

Toolshed Tuesday: The fade out.....

Land HO!  Just kidding...I saw a friend of mine walking towards me.

(this is the kind of face I make when boys (or girls) perform the "fade out")

Top: Victorias Secret, Vest: Cherry Lane Boutique, Pants: Anthropologie, Necklace: Charming Charlies (Texas), Belt: J.Crew, Shoes: China

The fade out.  We all hate it.  BUT.  We ALL do it.  You've been going out with someone and decide you really don't like them.  So obviously, the most logical way to get them out of your life is to avoid them completely, screen their calls, and perhaps, pretend to not see them at church.  Newsflash: You'll see them at church.

So why do we do it?

I've heard it all.  "I don't want to hurt their feelings!"  My response-- that's straight up bass-ackwards.  Or how bout this one..  "it's easier this way."  uh huh.....  Wouldn't it just be easier to just be straight up with that person rather than let them wonder for days on end?  I say YAY verily YAY.

Side note:  This post is not the result of the fade out happening to me recently (although, it has happened to me before.)

I made a promise to myself a long time ago that if I ever "wasn't feeling it," I would TALK to that person about it.  I don't like it when boys fade out me so I'm not going to do the fade out with boys.  Everyone should take their own stab at COMMUNICATION.

It's great you know.

Who's with me?????!!!!!

Thriftalicious.

Top: THA-RIFTED!!!,  Jeans: Nordstrom Rack, Shoes: Jessica Simpson, Jewelry: Betsey Johnson

My mom and I share a love of thrift store shopping.  It's a bonding time for us really.  She'll buy something at a thrift store and I'll be jealous of it or vice versa.  Jealousy is the foundation of every mother/daughter relationship.  I'm kidding--love you mom.  In this case, I was at home before school started, and one night I walked into her room.  Lo and behold, this precious lace top was perfectly draped on top of her bed.  It's like she was teasing me or something.

So,

I yelled her name to get her attention.  Really loudly.  When she got to her room.  I looked at her and said, "What is this?  It's so beautiful."  She got that smirky, sly smile on her face that I know SOOOO well.  She got it at DI, a thrift store based in Utah.  I, of course, like any normal daughter begged slash maybe demanded she give it to me.  Did she budge?  No.  Lame.

BUT.

She did say I could borrow it for a week.  Such a kind mom right?  What's yours is mine and mine is yours.....botta boom botta bing.
