Halloween--for the ghouls.

courtesy of two unknowns over the interwebs.

My photo-taking friend has been MIA for the past 3 days.

I honestly don't know where she went....so sad.  No fashion pics today.

She's like becoming a famous photo-taking person and is gone all the time on photo shoots.

I'm so proud.

In place of her photo expertise, I place this awkward slash awesomeness of a Halloween costume.

If I had a significant other, this is what I would be for H-ween, however inappropriate it may be.

I think it's RAWTHER funny.

But since no one enjoys a UNI at their parties, I'll save it for another year.

Also, I've decided to make Mondays "Meg Mondays" and share random facts about "me-self" so that this blog can become a sort of memoir for me for one day.  Don't judge.

Fact #1

Halloween:  I don't like it.  Don't ask me why.  I just don't and probably never will.  BUT this costume might just be worth the dang holiday.......

Campus Stylized--Kacey, Peter, and Mysterious Man.

Sorry for the Hiatus everyone.

Today is campus stylized day!

The first two are Kacey and Peter.

How great are Kacey's pattern mixin skills?  Loooooove blue and yellow together with her cute patterned scarf.

Peter was rockin a hot pea coat and scarf.  He told me he wanted to get into argyle socks and two-toned shoes and I was like, "oh so like hipster?"  (see this post)

haha

The third guy is our mystery man.  I may or may not have looked like a drowned rat on campus yesterday in my sweats, so I was too afraid to ask him for a picture.

What would be the obvious alternative?

Walk behind him with my phone out and snap a picture of him.

Uhhhhh....I've seen a ton of people do that on campus guys.

I did love his leather bag though.  Couldn't help it.

Toolshed Tuesday--Heartbreak Hotel.

laurabphoto.blogspot.com

Dress: Vintage, Cardigan: Nordstrom, Belt: J.Crew, Shoes: Dillards, Necklace: Target

I've had my fair share of heartbreak.

But it sucks even more when you don't understand why your heart even got broken.

Has that ever happened to you?  Things are just peachy perfect and then WHAM!

Surprise!

You just got yourself served a nice hot cup of breakup served with a sizzling side of heartbreak.

I didn't order that.

This post doesn't really have any correlation with Toolshed Tuesday, but has been on my mind the last couple of days...

I would do my Miss Idaho photos! It is time for some good head shots for pageant season. No more of these slightly blurry and not as flattering pictures! A serious pageant girl has a seriously fantastic picture. And I think she is JUST the lady to do it!

Congrats Deidre!

Hipster vs. Indie

laurabphoto.blogspot.com

Sweater: H&M, Shirt: H&M, Pants: Taiwan, Shoes: Sperry, Jewelry: Egypt and Charming Charlies.

It was brought to my attention that there is a difference between Hipster and Indie.

Is there though?

I don't know.  I'm ignorant.

I was told that Indie people dress more vintage grunge and Hipsters dress more expensive vintage slash trendy.

Is this true or is there more of a difference than that?

I'm so confused.

Campus gone stylized

OH my gosh....so sorry I cut off these girlfriends heads.  I'm really great at Pho-tos.

As you can well see...yours truly is not as gifted with the camera as Laura B.

SO...my mom called me last week and said something to the effect of, "Meg, people are going to get sick of seeing just you on this blog.  Involve some other people why don'tcha."

So I thought it would be maybe sorta kinda fun to capture some stylish co-eds at my trusty school.

Mormons can style it up too, friends.

Campus gone stylized will be featured every Thursday so check back to see if you, or your friends show up!

Also, I'm new at this.   So next time I'll include names....and boys too.

Why do people really go to the library???

Jack!  I'm flying!  I'll give you a buck if you can name that movie.

Poncho: Anthropologie, Scarf: H&M, pants: THA-RIFTED!!!, Shoes: Nordstrom

I've been spending a fair amount of time at the library this week because it's midterm time for moi.

The library is a funny place.  I can just feel the sexual tension happening there.

I feel like everyone is checking everyone out.

I feel like every time I get up to get a drink or go potty, there are eyes upon me....girls or boys.

It's weird.

Yesterday, I sat next to this boy who was distracting me because he spent more time looking around the room rather than with his nose in his books.

and then the fetching fetcher proceeded to talk slash flirt with like 5 girls in like 15 minutes.

A technique I have yet to master my friends.

So, let's be honest here.  Why do you go to the library?  Or if you're not in school, do you have a "place" like unto the library?  Do you have any funny library or like unto library stories?

ooooo....I'd love to hear them.

Give us the dets.

Toolshed Tuesday-- JDawgs

 Laurabphoto.blogspot.com
DON'T FORGET TO ENTER HER GIVEAWAY!

Dress: Anthropologie, Necklace: Egypt, Shoes: Elle via Kohls

First of all, I'm really sorry if I ever misspell words on my blog.  Cut a girl some slack.  Sometimes I write it so fast during a class that I forget to spell check.  I go to college.

Now, time for Toolshed.

This story I have been waiting for a while to tell.

I was in line at Jdawgs, an iconic hot dog joint in my town.

I got to hear this beauty of a conversation behind me.....

boy #1: So how are you Brittany doing?

boy #2: Oh she's fine, but I think I like her sister more.

boy #1: oh Ashley?  How come?
boy #2: Well Brittany is great and really nice, but Ashley is just shorter and skinnier
(notice how I enlarged these words)

boy #1: Oh ya. It's true.  That's better.

Coming from a girl who is TALL and CURVY, I wanted to turn around and do a little hair grab on both those guys and then knock their heads together.  (I see it in the movies and it looks fun)

What's so wrong with tall and curvy?  Not to mention, he's gonna go for her sister?  He should get an award.

Where's Brittany?  She and I shall form a Turvy club together.

yes, I just combined tall and curvy together.....

Oh my Crud...that was Rad day

This is Garrett, a boy in my ward who was walking by.  So great.

Hair: product of my Utah heritage and...it was dirty. (yay)  Cardigan: J.Crew, Jumper: Forever 21, Belt: Target, Necklace: Anthropologie, Shoes: China

If you had to choose, would you live on the beach or in the mountains?  We've all gotten that question before right?  It's like those are your only two options.  No you cannot live in a hot air balloon.... I wanted that one time.

I went on a date to the Uintah mountains one time and it was rad.

We went fishing.

He had a scruffy beard (hottttt).

He had a hatchet latched to his pants so he could axe down some trees to make a fire (hottttter).  hahaha....I picked up red pine.  Ya I learned that at the Girls Camp.

He laughed at my jokes (hotttttest).

After fishing, we made ourselves some good ole' tin foil dinners.

Bring on the onions baby...I don't even care about the potential bad breath.

It was a good time for all, including the local raccoon chilling in the tree above us.  Seriously.  Whilst watching the burning flame and singing camp songs (k just kidding we didn't do that....but I may or may not have shown him that I know the dance to Hannah Montana's Hoedown Throwdown.)  I couldn't help but think, Man this is how it is supposed to BE!

Man with fire and fire with man.

More boys should take their woman to the forest....I mean, it is where the prince found his Snow White.

Sip and Scan vs. Eat a Cookie...Take a Lookie

laurabphoto.blogspot.com

Blouse: Vintage via Decades, Skirt: Anthropologie, Heels: Ross, Jewelry: Heirloom from the Grammy.

I've heard both terms.

Non-Mormons: Sip and Scan.
Mormons: Eat a Cookie...Take a Lookie.

I've never been to a bar, but while I was in D.C. we walked past an outdoor bar one night and I was totally fascinated.  It makes me sound like a sheltered human but whatevs.
"Oh hi....let me just stand there and watch you while you flirt it up slash sip and scan with the blonde stiletto wearing HOTTIE...oh but shes taller than you.  Awkward."

Not to mention, I had on my bright yellow pants so it made that much more....great.

The sip and scan...very suave I tell you.  A man is with his "buddies,"  (isn't it funny how men call their friends their buddies?) and then one takes a drink.  Right at the moment his lips leave the tip of the glass/bottle, he scans the room for his target.

My friend had to drag me away because I was so taken away by the hilarity of our humanity--especially in this situation.

Mormons don't drink....what you didn't know?  So, we must have an equivalent right?  A boy in my ward would call it the "Eat a Cookie...Take a Lookie."

Oh shush.  We've all done it.  Dessert parties are a STAPLE in my town.  Obviously when I go to one, I go STRAIGHT to the dessert table.  Obvi.  Dessert parties (this subject will be spoken about in depth in a later post) are a great way to meet a "potential."  You grab your cookie, and then you take your lookie.

aaaaand if you don't find anyone...what do you do?

Wellll....what I have done in the past, and would suggest, is to grab as many treats as you can, stuff them into your purse slash jean pocket....and casually slip out the door thanking the host/hostess.

Once home, I plop on the couch and eat them as I watch an episode of The Biggest Loser.

Classic.
