Is Nerd the new Hot? Part 1....

I may look like I have to pee, but really, my skirt flew up....awkward.....

dress turned skirt: Cozy (local shop in Provo), Chambray shirt: J.Crew (this is like a staple in my closet), cardigan: Nordstrom, Necklace: Charming Charlies, Sockies: H&M, Shoes: Jessica Simpson via Nordstrom

Sooooo.....

A year ago I made fun of people who wore socks with their sandals slash open toed shoes.

Like I said yesterday, I'm a pawn of the chessboard of fashion.

I saw this done in a magazine one time, thought it was cuckoo, then saw it more, AND THEN decided to maybe rethink the idea.

Who decides what's in fashion again?

I think back to the movie, "The Devil Wears Prada."  Do you all know what part I'm talking about?

Anyway, I wore this outfit to church on Sunday and my friend Michael was like, "So is socks with your shoes in style now or something?"

uhhhhhhhh....I move to the beat of my own drum?......(under my breath, or I just follow the "big dogs" dang it.)

So what do you guys think?  I need you to be honest.  Do you think that wearing socks with sandals is just the most asinine thing you have ever seen/heard/smelled (uhhh....what)?

Let me know if the nerd has made a come back.

Part two to come tomorrow...

  1. I love the socks with sandals idea. I once upon a time decided I was going to do it and bought some way cute socks from Urban Outfitters. Then I went home to try it on, and it was an absolute fail! I look super silly. Or maybe I don't have the right shoes. Morale of the story is: you rock it!

  2. The 1 law of style: You can do anything you want as long as you make it look good.

  4. No socks. Uh uh. it's might be "a style" but it's not "the style."

  5. You look fabulous! I don't do the socks w/ sandals thing because of HUGE calves, but I like it on other people and you totally pull it off! I really love this outfit!

  6. I don't do the socks. But please define Chambray shirt to this fashion ignoramus.

  7. I like it. You can pull it off. And I think anyone can pull anything off as long as they have the confidence. And you my friend, look fantastic.

  10. So my little Abi said she loves your shoes and your "pink" socks. She then proceeded to go upstairs and get some pink socks to wear with her shoes for the day. To my three-year-old, you are WAY in style :)
